Home Inside Rose's Head A Christmas Gift of Love

A Christmas Gift of Love

by Rosemary

Precious Child,

You are my love, my chosen one, made by my gentle hands.
I know your thoughts. I see your face. Your life is in my plan.

This time of year we celebrate the day I came to earth.
The long-awaited Savior, my humble, holy birth.
And yet, today I see your pace and pray, dear child, you’ll know
that Christmas holds much more than lists or earthly things below.

Your tiredness, the morning hours, your coffee held in hand,
Reminds me of my mother’s journey through a barren land.
She traveled lonely weary hours, her future yet unknown.
My presence, held with holy power, she never walked alone.
My strength for her, for you as well, pause long enough to see.
I’m here with you, Emmanuel, just choose to walk with me.

Be careful you don’t miss my plan as schedules fill your mind.
The packed full days, the crazy nights, the rapid passing time.
You’re focused on the frenzied pace and making memories grand.
A lie that there’s a perfect gift, a moment made by man.
A fragile gift just out of reach when things don’t go as planned.

Yet, Mary held the perfect Gift inside her virgin womb.
A promised gift for everyone, child, does your heart have room?
For peace and joy and love and hope found in the Master’s hands
A gift that’s greater than this world could ever understand.

I came that you might rest your heart inside the Father’s plan.
I came that you would seek my face, and not the ways of man.
So take some time and sit with me beside your Christmas tree.
I’ll meet you there beneath the lights and draw you close to me.

I’ll whisper “Precious One, be still. I hope you’ll stay awhile.
You are my special, beloved one. I came for you, my child.
My name means “God with us.” You are included in that, too.
I came that you might also know my name means God with YOU!

I entered this dark, dirty world, a baby wrapped in flesh.
I came to show that You are loved. You, my child, are blessed.
From streets of gold to paths of dirt, my feet have walked this earth.
I came that you might simply know how much that you are worth.

My love for you, my precious child, brought me all this way.
A gift of grace found on the cross wrapped first on Christmas Day.
Beyond my birth to death and life, my sacrifice was giv’n
So you might meet me face to face and stay with me in heav’n

Until that day, cling to my Word, your will you must release.
When you trust your life to me, you’ll taste my joy and peace.
You are my child, my precious one, I pray you can believe
That I would do it all again, your heart love to receive!

Love,
Emmanuel “God with Us” and God with YOU
