The Federal Trade Commission requires that we make the following disclosure, which in our humble opinion, makes for sad commentary about both trust and common sense in today’s world. However, we will respectfully comply.
From time to time, we may review a particular product, mention how we used something in a project, or just provide a link to something that we think is interesting. In today’s connected world, many online retailers will offer affiliate commission payments for links to products on their sites as a means to incentivize grass roots marketing. If we think it’s worthwhile to sign up for one of these affiliate programs, we may choose to include one of these affiliate links. If you choose to “click-through” and buy one of these items, we may receive this aforementioned commission. Likely, if you’re on the internet, this practice is something you’ve heard of, but what you might not know is that the government requires that you be reminded ad nauseam in order to comply with FTC disclosure in advertising guidelines. Consider this yet another reminder.
It is my hope, that if you know us, or get to know us by way of this site, that you know we are trustworthy folks. You have our commitment to be honest about what we say about products on this site – good, bad or indifferent.
That said, we do have chickens to feed… so if you’d like to skip the affiliate links and just send us a check, we’ll be happy to cash it. Which we will, in turn, have to disclose as income to the IRS… <sigh>
